#76 Poetry: Transgressions on walls

A POEM ABOUT GRAFFITI AND FLOWERS.

Outright

An art fight

For whose right

’tis right

Under pen

’bout rights

Pick spots

Then

Caps off

And whispers

Soft sounds

Are

inva’sive,

Chrysanths

wild On walls

a menace

blotches

or

Petals

of pastels

be gardens

enjoyed by the few

fight-ing for a chance to be

transgression of art growing between brutal walls.

This is an exploration of two images.

One is the image of graffiti and the other is of a wild garden of exquisite flowers growing between the same space. Both seem out of place in the brutal post-industrial landscape but at the same time they also both fit in. It is in their juxtaposition where they challenge the order of the urban space that they also find their place.
